The History
2003 was a bad year for the Atari ST community. One of the biggest contributors to the scene, Brume, was about to
close PaciDemo and Pacigame. Two of the most highly respected resources regarding ST software on the net. Little
did everybody know that this was actually also the birth date of the Atari Legend project.

|
The Pacidemo website featured
everything there was to know about ST demo's, and since the scene has a strong demo following, this closure was bad news.
Another reason it came as a shock was the fact the Pacigame site, which featured loads of rare and previously uncovered game menu's,
had only been online for a year. Another site was also created in that last year called Missing, which was the start to uncovering
all games that were supposed to be none-existent on the ST.

After the closure of these
sites, the first thoughts of a new, bigger project started to float above water.
That's the point where Silver Surfer entered the scene. He was the previous creator of the short lived Atari Zone.
When he was contacted by Brume, he was in the middle of creating an all new Atari Zone project together with fellow scener DBG.
This project got canned, and eventually turned into Atari Legend (some parts of the database, anyway). Silver was also a longtime
scener and responsible for the popular Atari-Forum.

Finally a third member was called in. ST Graveyard was the author of the obscure The ST Graveyard website. He was already in contact with
both other members, but the idea of a new site came as a surprise. The ST Graveyard website featured loads of self written reviews and articles, but the site
wasn't really technically up to date. The project got closed, and he moved on to this team

So there you have it. The goal of Atari Legend is to combine the content of those previously mentioned sites into one
user friendly environment. In the future you will find everything there is to know about ST game, demos, menus and much more.
Self-written reviews, interview and articles are online, with much more info. And lets not forget all the latest gossip
from the Atari ST world.

- Our families and friends!
- Andrew Collington for his fantastic drop shadow class which we use dearly (http://php.amnuts.com/)
- PHP, MYSQL and APACHE for delivering the best open source software there is

- All the members of the AL team for helping us with all the multimedia you see
- All the people who have contributed in one way or another (you know who you are)

- Everybody in the ST Scene!
- And all we forgot!
